Welcome!! Are You Ready For Plan B?!? – Plan B With Teriann

Usually Plan B is what we would really prefer. Plan B is also usually scarier but has tons of potential benefits. So we have two choices: 1) stick with Plan A where we “feel” safe or 2) take the scary step into Plan B and actually live our dreams!

Other times, we are forced into our Plan B, as I was. I was ready for Plan B! When life’s changes disrupt our Plan A, we have two choices: 1) we can struggle desperately clinging to Plan A or 2) we can take control and make Plan B work! Are you ready for Plan B?

I am here to help you on your Plan B journey!! Again, welcome and Thank you for visiting my blog!

Keep it Balanced! Keep it Fun!- Plan B with Teriann

Keep a balance in your life. Schedule in time to smile  I know we are all intensely into our businesses, but it is important that we keep a balance. We can get so into working that we forget to make time for anything else. This will cause burnout. Good work doesn’t happen when we are burnt out. So keep it balanced.

You NEED an Accountability Partner- Plan B With Teriann

What is an accountability partner? An Accountability partner is someone you make familiar with your WHY, your schedule, and the tasks you have to complete. This person should be someone you trust. You should feel comfortable letting them know any areas you struggle with. So what does an accountability partnership look like and what are the benefits?

An accountability partnership will have at least two people communicating on a regularly scheduled basis. For the first meeting (which can be in person, by phone, chat, e-mail…), you will each communicate a plan of action. Determine how often you will report to each other. So, let’s say you’ve decided to  ”meet” weekly. You will each lay out what you want to accomplish by the next meeting. The week goes by and you meet again to report progress and set new goals for the coming week.

What are the benefits to this? Well, unfortunately, we our more likely to let ourselves down than other people. For example, If I am the only one who knows my goal, it is more likely that I will procrastinate in doing it or just flat out never do it. On the other hand, if I know I am going to be discussing my results with someone else, I am likely to be more on top of things so that I can report back to my partner that I accomplished what I set out to do. Setting new goals each time keeps me from wandering off task.

Schedule?! Yes, Schedule!- Plan B With Teriann

So Now that you know WHY you are doing this and you’ve decided WHAT you will be doing, you NEED a SCHEDULE. YES a schedule…

Having your own business and working from home does not mean you just do things “when you feel like it.” Quite honestly, you will likely not “feel like it” very often— that’s why it’s still called work. And you won’t get paid without working.

In this case, YOU are YOUR employee… wouldn’t you give any employee a schedule? BUT YOU are also YOUR boss and the beauty is that rather than having someone else post your schedule, YOU get to choose YOUR schedule!

When you make your own schedule, you have the freedom to consider things like when you need to be off to attend church, when you feel you are at your best, the times your kids take a nap, when kids need to be picked up from school, when your kids games and dance lessons are, when you would like to grocery shop, etc…

Your schedule can be the same every day or it can be drastically different every day. BUT whatever schedule you decide on, you need to stick to it like you would with any other work place.

Just like with your WHY, put this in writing and place it where you can see it often. Let family and friends know what your new work hours are and that you are only available during these times in emergencies.

Choosing A Business Ethically-Plan B With Teriann

Choosing the business that you will be working with deserves careful consideration. This needs to be something you think very honestly about. YOU HAVE GOT TO BELIEVE IN THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE you promote.Key question: If there was no business side or money to be made, would you still use it? If the answer to this question is no, you should probably not be involved with that business.

You’re Ready to Pursue Plan B… But WHY?– Plan B With Teriann

What is your WHY? When deciding to change your plan B to your plan A, it is very important to know and have really thought through your reasons why you’ve made this decision. You need to write this WHY down and keep it where you can see it often to motivate you in times you are feeling unmotivated.
